The Constitution of the Society sets out the requirement for those wishing to join.
Full membership of the Society is open* to fully registered and licensed medical practitioners who are able to demonstrate to the Council of the Society that they are able to fulfil the following criteria
Satisfactory evidence for (2) above shall be**:
(i) evidence of extensive and comprehensive verifiable training and education in
Cosmetic Medicine or Surgery, or a relevant specialty to Postgraduate Diploma level
and
(ii) acceptable evidence of at least 3 years full-
(iii) production of a satisfactory logbook of experience in
a broad range of cosmetic procedures over a period of up to 3 years prior to application
for Full membership and
(iv) satisfactory completion of such examinations and assessments as prescribed by
Council under 5(d) of this Constitution.
The Society’s Constitution provides for membership of a wide range of healthcare professionals.
The Society wishes to include the widest possible range of experience drawn from healthcare professionals of all types. In accordance with this wish the Constitution provides for other grades of membership which will facilitate participation from medical practitioners who are new to the field of cosmetic medicine or surgery but who wish to train and develop their skills and knowledge as well as members of the nursing and dental professions who provide treatments.
* Award of membership is subject to nomination and election by the Council of the Society
