About The Society of Cosmetic Physicians & Surgeons
What do we do?
The Society of Cosmetic Physicians & Surgeons provides a extensive range of services
to our Associates, Licentiates, Members, Fellows and other medical professionals.
These include delivering examinations, accrediting training courses, continuous professional
development and other educational activities; undertaking clinical audits; publishing
newsletters and guidelines. We also lead medical debate in the field of Cosmetic
Medicine & Surgery and lobby and advise government and other decision-
In addition we also provide educational information to the public and patients about skin conditions and diseases as well as treatment options for cosmetic conditions. Our public portal has Patient Information Leaflets which provided detailed, unbiased and impartial information about various conditions and treatments available. These can be can be downloaded and printed for you to discuss with your practitioner during your consultation.
Objects of the Society:
The objects of the Society shall be to form a group of medical professionals with interest in the practice of Cosmetic Medicine & Surgery in any of its branches for the purposes of;
(a) prevention and management of skin diseases, disorders and cosmetic conditions,
(b) advancing education and raising the standards of clinical practice, including the promotion and stimulation of research in the field of Cosmetic Medicine & Surgery and associated issues relating thereto, in particular by the publication of such research and the provision of guidance and advice on Cosmetic Medicine & Surgery and associated health issues.
(c) with a view to furthering the above objects;
(i) co-
(ii) making representations to medical, governmental and other such bodies as may be concerned with any of the aspects of Cosmetic Medicine & Surgery, and
(iii) providing educational information and advice to the public and patients, and
(iv) doing all such other things as are necessary in furtherance of the objects of the Society.
The Society is Company Limited by Guarantee and is without shareholders or share capital.
